January 2019/Sympathy cards
I know. Pamcook is posting a card challenge. What is the world coming to?
Farley posts such great challenges and I always intend to join in and I rarely do.
So my challenge this month is to make a stack of sympathy cards to have on hand. I chose sympathy cards because I find them so difficult and when I need them, I’m usually a bit overwhelmed with sadness.
BONUS POINTS when you use something from Farley’s clhallenge to make them (don’t go looking - she hasn’t posted for January 2019 yet).
DOUBLE BONUS POINTS if you use something from these supplies to make a scrapbook page (stamps, papers, dies...). You have the supplies on your desk, why not use them up?

As simple as they come and I had to go to Pinterest for this design idea. I used almost every bit of the papers. Going to have to think outside the box to earn my extra bonus points.

Hey Pam this is a great idea! I do have my challenge in mind and will post maybe tonight to get everyone started. I recently had to dig to find a suitable, ready made sympathy card. Having them on hand like any other themed card would be great.

Here’s the scrapbook page I made with some of the scraps. I was motivated by the bonus points!

Here is my contribution to the challenge. The inside sentiment reads: “I want you to know that I am with you in thought and I wish you comfort and peace as you remember. I am truly sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family.”
Stamps from Altenew and paper is Tim Holt on the green cards and flower paper is Crafters Companion. I tried to make a masculine and feminine choice.

Re: January 2019/Sympathy cards
Here is the layout using up the rest of the floral paper from the sympathy cards. There are even 2 pieces of Club Scrap in there. The top beige with the columns on it and the rust on lower right I thought matched the colors of the rock formation pretty close and the columns went along with the shape of some of the rocks.
I also ran out of e’s and turned that c in the word vortex into an e. Like I’m running low on alphas said no one ever!!

Re: January 2019/Sympathy cards
Pam your cards are lovely and that Fungi LO is great! I took a photo of some huge mushrooms growing in my yard...I should make a LO of them too.
Debbie your cards are wonderful and so smart to make two versions. Your LO is fabulous and I laughed at your cleverness on the “C”. Brilliant.
So here is a peek at my January Challenge which I am about to post also. My sympathy card is a bit more generic in that I did not use “sympathy” though the thought is there. Instead I used a stamp from the Altenew sentiment (“You are in my thoughts and prayers” embossed in silver) set PamC sent me for a Secret Sister gift. Lots of patterned paper...hint, hint.
Pam do I get bonus points for using a stamp you gave me?

Very nice cards and layouts! I'll have to check my sympathy cards and see what I need. Not long ago I finished up some that were sitting around half done for years.

Sympathy cards are very had to make. I usually do a couple at a time, when I don't need them. The same with Get Well.
This one is all Club Scrap various kits (Homestead, Tilescapes and Special stamps With Sympathy) The top pic is the inside, the bottom is the front face. The inside verse is my absolute favorite for a sympathy card.
