What gives the ribbon and the charm it's realistic look are the "special" effects in PSE. Just a few clicks. For the charm I added a beveled edge and for the ribbon a drop shadow. I changed the preset default settings on the drop shadow. I honestly don't remember what they are called without firing up PSE, but I change the first two values from 21 pixels to 8 pixels which I think makes it look more "real". Thanks for the compliments!

I agree with what everyone has written. And, I am sorry to say, your explanation is like Greek to me. I have PSE 4 (got it for my DD), but I just don't have the patience to learn it.
