sketch inspiration to share
Re: sketch inspiration to share
Oh Monica... having a closer look at these sketches this morning. I love a good sketch resource, and while I can see where some of these are from, others I can't tell. At least one I've identified is new to me, so would you kindly share your favourite sketch sites? Thanks.

From sketch #2. I didn’t have a star punch and didn’t want to get my Cricut out. It’s going to be another inside day. We still have a lot of ice here. The creek froze over with a thin layer of ice.

HA - I had a Robot vacuum years ago, even made a layout about it. I've never seen/heard of an iRobot lawnmower either. Fun layout!
Re: sketch inspiration to share
I usually start with Pinterest if I'm wanting inspiration, or do a Google search based on what I'm looking for. The reason I found the sketches I shared here, some of which I already had bookmarked, stems from finding out that a friend who designs sketches and shares them online has had some of her sketches altered slightly and watermarks removed in Photoshop and then claimed as original sketches by another person for a scrappers group that started last July. I discovered that 3 of the 7 monthly sketches posted as this other woman's original sketches belonged to my friend, and figured if that was the case then the other 4 likely were too. Which led to a couple hours of searching online any way I could think of to locate the originals, and if possible to let the original sketch artist know that someone was claiming her work as their own.Keitha wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 10:01 am Oh Monica... having a closer look at these sketches this morning. At least one of the blogs is no longer active, as these sketches were all from the 2014-2017 time period, but I can certainly provide you with others beyond the one in my first post. One of them came from Citrus Twist Kits blog, which I've found has some really great sketches! I've found some other great ones in poking around the older years of Basic Grey's blog, when they still did awesome paper collections. And here are my two Pinterest boards for additional inspiration: One Page Sketches Two Page Sketches

Thanks Monica. I have some favourite sketch sites, many no longer active, but sometimes you just feel like something different. I never think to manufacturers' blogs; I'll have a look at Citrus Twist.
I hope your friend is able to sort out the theft of her sketches; unfortunately there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there.

Re: sketch inspiration to share
Had a different idea in mind for these photos but realized one of these would work as well, so this is my take on the 4th sketch. This sketch is very reminiscent of one I used last year in my Alaska album, although that one had a circular element included. I haven't bothered trying to find that sketch to really compare them. Not sure if you can tell in the photo but I had the idea to use twin sets of letters layered for my title, the yellow and red vellum stickers ended up a bit more in-your-face than I'd have liked LOL - but the whole point of these 25' high arrows was to encourage people to stop, so it's fitting. Ironically, we didn't stop - these are drive-by photos which Rebecca is very good at.

Sketch #3 but a double layout. This is a picture of the Grove Park Inn. I’ve been there several times for conferences but Steve had never been. He lived the huge fireplaces.

Re: sketch inspiration to share
I really like your paper choices Laurie, they draw your eye right in to your photos.
Re: sketch inspiration to share
Keitha - that sketch caught my eye but it's a little outside of what I usually gravitate to, so I didn't pick it. But you NAILED it. I love everything about it.
Laurie- I just got done assembling a Scrapbook Generation kit that featured that collection, and I really had fun with it. It's such a bright, happy collection. And it works beautifully with the sketch you chose and your photos. Love it!

Keitha and Laurie, way to rock the sketches!
As for my friend... that site has removed her pirated sketch they were using for this month's challenge, and I have another mutual friend who is helping my by making layouts and posting them with the original sketches on Instagram. She is followed by people who are on the design team for that other site, and we're fairly sure she was a big part of why the pirated sketch was removed shortly after she did an Instagram post with the original sketch and her layout using it. We're hoping to get the rest taken down by dint of Instagram posts with layouts and the original sketches.

This is “supposed” to be sketch #4 but I got carried away with the layering.
The picture was taken at Antler Village at the Biltmore. The Antler Village was where the farmers for the Biltmore lived. They also sold the extras to the town of Asheville.
We at ice cream there at the Village. It was so great.
