Cadillac Ranch
Cadillac Ranch
Anytime you see photos of Cadillac Ranch the sky is blue and the sun is shining... well, not for us. As you can see most of the cars were surrounded by muddy water - although I do like the reflections of the paint in that! Careful to remain upwind of the spray we both took a turn making our mark on the Mother Road's most famous graffiti, ahem art, installation. Again I used three stamps: the Graffiti Area sign in black VersaFine ink, the US 66 road shield embossed in gold, and the two cars in the lower left corner, embossed in several colours of Distress embossing powders.

Re: Cadillac Ranch
You two must have had the best time together. I'm so glad you did that trip! The background dripping paper is just right as are the stamped embellishments.
Re: Cadillac Ranch
Anyone could get photos of them with sunny skies. Your photos look as though the paint is dripping down into the reflection and I love it!
Outstanding page - especially the multicolor cars you created!

Well, I've actually never heard of Cadillac Ranch, but this layout is amazing. You don't even need any journaling to know the story of those pictures - your papers and embellishments say it all. Fantastic!

So Cool.
I knew this place existed but didn't know you could paint the cars. What an experience.

What a fun layout, totally in love with it!
One question, do you need to bring your own spray paint
or do they have it on site?

You bring your own paint. The cars are just out in the middle of a huge cow pasture, nothing else around. Knowing we planned to stop here along the route, we bought a can of paint earlier in our trip when we were at a mall. Of course we didn't use all of it, so handed the can off to someone who was just arriving as we were leaving.EDelValle wrote:Whjat a fun layout, totally in love with it!
