Dumb Cuttlebug Embossing Question
Dumb Cuttlebug Embossing Question
All the years I've had a Cuttlebug, I've never embossed with it just cut. Now I want to emboss and cut. Is there a way to prevent it from cutting through whatever you add to the sandwich to increase the pressure? I don't have the tan mat that Spellbinders suggest on the die instructions. Variation on the question would be, is there also a way to just emboss and not cut through anything?
Re: Dumb Cuttlebug Embossing Question
Are you talking embossing with an embossing folder or embossing with a Spellbinders-type of die? If the embossing folder, you just need to use the correct "sandwich" of plates. I'm assuming you mean using a Spellbinders-type of die, in which case I would recommend acquiring the silicone embossing mat for them. You can buy it at Joann's... it should be with the dies. I haven't found anything else that worked when attempting to emboss with a die; you need something that will apply pressure but give just enough to emboss but not cut the paper.

Re: Dumb Cuttlebug Embossing Question
Yes, I am talking about cutting and embossing with a Spellbinders type die with an embossed edge on it.
I got it to do what I wanted-cut and emboss the edge-using felt added into the sandwich. It cut the felt but I can use that for flowers or something.

Marianne, hold your nose and buy the tan pad. I did and it really has simplified things!

Ok, Beth, I will do that
