May 2009 Monthly Scrapping Challenge
May 2009 Monthly Scrapping Challenge
Good morning, all, on this gloomy overcast first day of May!
This month's challenge is going to be easy but you will have to dig deep into your neglected stash.
Use vellum and dry emboss it in some way. You could create a design like flowers or do lettering or an abstract design. This is a technique that I have always loved but have never used often enough. You can make it very elegant or very playful, it can be a small embellishment or a whole sheet of paper, whatever suits your layout.
And the tool of the month is decorative scissors. I know you have them stuck away somewhere so dust them off and see what you can do with them.
I will be away in Australia most of the month so may not be checking in as much as usual but I will when I can. Please, have fun with this. Can't wait to see what you do!

That is going to be a tough one! I very seldom use vellum. Guess I'll have to find where I have it hidden

Re: May 2009 Monthly Scrapping Challenge
Hello, I guess I'd better start the ball rolling with this month's challenge! This is the guest-house we stayed in on our Austrian trip last year. How about that for a view from the balcony?
I used a brass stencil to emboss the hearts, then filled in the pattern with a white gel pen so that it would show up better. I used pinking shears on the pink strips as there is a zig-zag design on the flower-striped paper, which was similar to the pattern on the duvets.
I had a message from Marianne a couple of days ago and they are having a great time.
Kathryn.

Here's my challenge entry. Blue vellum dry embossed using the Fiskars wedding embossing sheet, and decorative scissors used on the upper edge of two of the photos.
