As Tim would say, shakity-shake! Your challenge is to make a shaker pocket on a card, tag or layout. Christmas/winter themed, or whatever floats your boat.
First up I used a circle word die for a quick ornament tag. Next I used a sentiment/shadow die combo, with the shadow cut out of the card front to create the shaker pocket, and the sentiment layered overtop. Lastly I made a shaker pocket by wrapping acetate completely around the card front; you still need filler for the shaker pocket, but is an example of a shaker that can be made without any dies by substituting patterned paper or a handmade background, and a piece of ephemera or word sticker on top.
Have fun!

Oh, a shakity-shake challenge! I'll see what I can come up with! I love a good shaker and I have scads of shaker bits.

Thanks for the fun idea! I don’t make shaker pockets often but these photos needed one. And now I’m motivated to finish the last few pages of my JYC album.

I've never been too successful making a
shaker element on anything, the baubles always
stick to the tape

I wrapped the edges of the acetate packaging around the edges and taped them to the back. Not at all fancy but I was able to avoid the sticking to the adhesive issue.

Adventures in learning to make a shaker card, day 2:

After watching a dozen or so videos and trying to understand a handful of photo tutorials, I'm ready to start. Selected the card base, the background paper and the shaker paper. Finally, after measuring and cutting 5 times, I have the perfect frame cut. Then on to the next thing - attaching the clear window. Dug through every single container and found absolutely zero double sided tape. Looked again because surely there's some in here somewhere. Nope. Nada. Zip. Oh! Zip. Zip lines. That stuff holds anything. Except I might have 6 inches of it left and it seems to have gathered some cat hair and lint. Ok, surely there's something else. After digging through glues, I finally decided on some all purpose glue. What a mess. Now I have paper towels glued together and my hands seem to be picking up things that I don't want to pick up. Now to wait and wait and wait for the glue to dry and pray it works.

Why did I quit drinking???

LOL Pam! I didn't realize that not everyone keeps a healthy supply of every adhesive imaginable, just in the off-chance it'll be needed! For my window shakers I used double-sided adhesive foam tape lines, although for a wrap-around shaker any strong tape works as you don't see it. I'm rooting for you!

Great challenge, Keitha.
Lovin the creations so far.
I made a card for my 13-year-old neighbor whose birthday is the end of this month. I used a walrus die, so it's sort of winter themed :D .
Also, I had never made a shaker card using a clear envelope - it makes it SO much easier and this will probably be my go-to from now on.

Pam, I feel your pain. It’s why I went the ultra-simple route. I adore the pockets made with more complex elements but I avoid making them. For all the reasons! Mostly because I’m a lazy crafter.

Sue - she will absolutely love it and thanks for the idea to use clear envelopes.
