2021 May Card Challenge: Use Up That Pile of Made Backgrounds!

How many of us make tons of backgrounds when we are exploring new inks or techniques or stamps but then never use them for a card? I have a pile of them. Some from former challenges I’ve posted here!

So get that stack of art out and use them! Use them for an actual background or die cut them or tear them but USE them! And not just for cards but perhaps a LO since it’s NSD this weekend!

I’ve chosen 4 here. The card with the lattice uses 2 of my backgrounds, the base and the thinnest lattice on top. The coffee card background of copper coffee beans is indeed the background for my cup of latte. And finally the die cut flowers are enclosed in a shimmery blue background that I cut the center out of to frame them. Actually I didn’t cut the center out. That is a cool die called a Halvsie by The Greetery. Two halves make the frame. Anyway pull out your backgrounds and stamp on it or cut them up or whatever inspires you.

Stunning! I think the embossed foil looking one is my favorite, but I love them all!

Great challenge, btw - I do have some backgrounds laying around from WAAAAY back. This is a good excuse to dig those out and do something with them.

They are so pretty! You amaze me with your skills. I struggle with cards still but you inspire me to keep at it.

I’m sure I have some gelli plate pieces stashed away somewhere. Time to pull them out.

1) find those backgrounds
2) work with what you find

It’s part of a border sticker strip from a Basic Grey sticker sheet.

Thanks, I wondered if it was one of those weird shapes on those sheets that I never know what to do with!
