Another organization project

A while ago, Pam C and I had watched a YouTube video and followed the idea of cutting apart sheets of enamel dots and then putting them in a box or binder by color. Great idea and I’m using them more now that they’re organized.

Last week, I saw another video where someone was showing lengths of ribbon organized in a similar way. Perfect idea. I’d finally gotten all my ribbons in one place. It was a huge unruly bag of spools of ribbon and assorted lengths. So, for a while yesterday and today, I wrapped them around 5 x 7 pieces of chipboard by color. The spools are in a big iris plastic box. The chipboard pieces all fit in a plastic tray. Now I’ll easily find what I want to use. Yay!!

Wow that is terrific! And pretty too. Mine remain in a large plastic shoe box all in a jumble.

I did that with mine many moons ago,
and now I have a photo box for each
color family, and I still forget to use the ribbon! LOL

Excellent idea. Thanks!

I've [mostly] organized all my paper by color; I shall endeavor to do this AND the enamel dots along with rhinestones, etc.

Elizabeth... I'm finding that I totally ignore things in closed up boxes.... so I'm trying to make sure I keep things in transparent containers.

I did the same thing last year and now they reside in a pretty decorative box. It's so much easier to find a color when you need one. On the plus side - they're not on spools anymore where Bugs can play with them and unwind them.

I NEED one of those! A Pringles can would work but the clear container is perfect. Will have to go find a Ross store...

The paper is on the inside and comes out easily, not glued in, just placed there. I hate those containers you buy that you peel the sticker off and then have that sticky mess. I always have to spray with goo gone because I’m OCD about that. If I can’t get it off it goes in the trash, I’m a snob that way! Lol

Debi, as someone who organized their ribbon that way years ago I can tell you it's a great system. I still have the two lidded plastic boxes on my shelf, although will confess that as I don't reach for ribbon much anymore I plan to pare down my stash so it'll all fit in one box. The only thing I didn't like about it were the inevitable creases where the ribbon wrapped around the cards - I certainly got my money's worth out of my little Heidi Swapp craft iron.
