Monica's Challenge

My inspiration for this challenge comes from me getting a Cameo a week ago and using it today to die cut a couple churros for my Disneyland layout. Once they were cut I thought they needed a bit more, so I grabbed a Versamark pad and 2 different embossing powders to alter them to fit.

So, my challenge is to alter an embellishment, with embossing powder, inks, paints, other mediums... and show us a before and after along with your finished project.

Well...now I gotta add my heat tool & embossing powders to my travel haul...

But don’t ya just love being able to make embellishments and alter them to suit your own needs? :D

It's not as if I don't have lots of embossing powders and some really cool samples! ;)

Monica, am I the only person who thought you were holding a large yellow and black caterpillar and letting it feed from the cup of chocolate? I thought "Gosh, she's really brave!" :P

Great challenge, Monica. I know you didn't say embossing powders specifically, but that's a good reminder to use them. I sometimes forget about them amidst all the new, shiny techniques, but when I do use them they never cease to delight me. I'm just glad you didn't issue a challenge to use the Cameo specifically. I'm working up to dusting mine off - except I have a new computer with a newer operating system since I last used it and suspect I'm in for some frustrations to get from idea to finished cut.
Yes Kathryn, you're probably the only one LOL.

 That's a good one, Katherine! It does sort of look that way, doesn't it? I promise, no actual bugs were harmed or consumed in photos. ;)

Glad you all like my challenge!

Great example Monica, now I’m craving a churro!

Here is my example. I received the Beautiful Day stamp and die set from Althenew. After I saw Keitha use it, I splurged since I’ve been a good girl since this virus raised its ugly head.

I used 2 different embossing powders both WOW brand. One is called Black Magic and the other is Primary Ebony. I like the Primary Ebony the best out of the two, it’s the darkest one.

The base of the card is from a pile of over hundred cards, 8-10 different colors, that I picked up at a yard sale in the old days when people had yard sales! Actually November. Nice thing about AZ is you can have yard sales about 9 months out of the year.

My daughter will be turning 45 on May 26th so this will go to her.

Debbie, your card is gorgeous! I'm sure your daughter will love it. You've given me another idea for using my stamp set - thanks.

On this layout I altered raw chipboard hearts using the shattered stains technique. Forgot to take a 'before' photo of them, but am including the evidence of my handiwork.

These are all wonderful! Maybe tomorrow I can get on this challenge. I thought about Debbie’s challenge most of the drive out here today. Too tired to be very creative tonight.

Monica, terrific challenge! And I know exactly the item I’m going to alter. Your churros turned out fantastic and what an embellishment for your fun LO. Congrats on your Cameo.

Keitha, LOVE your LO and the altered hearts...super hair color too!

Debbie your gorgeous card will be a hit with your daughter. My step-daughter turns 40 next month so this is a great inspiration card.
