it's a start

For the first time in a long while I played with ink and paper and glue yesterday. I signed up for a workshop next weekend to support a close friend who wants to give it a try. Billed as an Altered Book Workshop, although it's only for 3 hours so I can't imagine how she'll cover all the basics of actually altering a book - never mind finishing a page. I'll work in one of my current art journals. I've been doing a lot of country driving this autumn and the colours have been spectacular this year, so I chose Leaves as the subject of my pages for the workshop.
These are done by inking regular tissue paper with Distress inks, then crumpling and adhering it to cardstock. I then gold-embossed the raised bits and die-cut the shapes and words. No idea what else I'll do with the page, but it feels good to play again.
