Farley’s September-Card-A-Day DONE and THANK YOU!!!

Post by paddlegal »

September 1: I made one today that relates to no other challenge...a just-for-fun-card playing with my Catherine Pooler stamps and inks.

Great colors! They make me think of State Fair time of the year for some reason. The black sets them off perfectly.

I’m so happy you’re joining in!

I also really like the patterned black edge. Is that paper or a stamp?

Thank you everyone!

Marianne that black print border is from an MFT 6X6, B&W patterned paper pad.

September 2: This was a pretty quick card since I already had the embossed, green inked, tropical leaves background and the deckle-edged, green die cut panel. I cut the center out to use on something else. Why cover that up? I then stamped and die cut the flower, added the sentiment and a few Nuvo glitter drops that are invisible in this photo.

The leaves are from a Sizzix “deep” embossing folder. I inked up the paper first with various CP green inks, dry embossed the paper and then swiped the embossed leaves directly with a green ink pad.

So pretty. I love the deep purple and green combination. It sure doesn't look like a "quick" card.

Gorgeous colors and it does look like it would have been much more complicated.

The only reason it wasn’t complicated was that i had made that background and the green center together about a month ago, LOL. So it came together quickly once I knew what I wanted to do with it. The most complicated thing was just making that flower. That did take two tries.

Love the purple & green in day 2's card.

And thanks for clearing up the border on day 1, I had the exact same question. Love it, makes the whole card face pop out at you.

I actually oooohhhhed out loud when I scrolled down and saw your last card. Such rich colors. Are the CP inks similar to Distress Oxides? They seem to have that chalky, vibrant look to them.

super cards... the green is my favorite!! Great idea to cut out the center of the leaf panel to use elsewhere.... we've done it with scrapbook pages for years... why not for cards, too!?
