PRAYERS PLEASE - update on first post

I posted on FB but know quite a few are not there. My brother Ed has had a very bad sore on his lower leg that he has been going to the dr about since before Thanksgiving. It seems to get better then it gets worse. He has been going to dr about every week, dr puts medicine on it and wraps it, gives him prescriptions and it doesn't seem to help. When he went today it looked worse and dr said they would do xray next week to see if it was a bone infection. This really has me worried.

Now Ed has had MS since the age of 17 and he is now 64. He lived with my parents until they passed then lived a short time with another brother and his wife before wanting to be on his own. He is unable to work, has not been able to drive for several years, can hardly walk, now this. He does have a service dog and she is a great companion for him. I am very worried that this might lead to amputation. It is difficult because he lives in Florida. Please keep him in your prayers.

So I talked with him today and apparently the sore is better. I'm in hopes it stays that way. It seems one week it is good and the next it isn't. I sure hope it stays good. He has no energy and tends to sleep a lot. I'm glad he has a service dog to keep him company. Thank you all for the prayers and maybe keep them going. Love you all.

Will say a prayer for him. Sounds like he may need a second opinion. I hope they figure it out quickly.

Never hurts to get another opinion.

Will keep Ed in my thoughts and prayers.

He is on Medicaid and Medicare so I'm not sure what he can do. He is usually keeping a lot to himself and when I say anything about his dr he kind of backs off. He really likes him. Thanks for the prayers.

For sure he needs to go to a wound specialist (if he isn't already). He should be golden with both medicare & medicaid.
Praying for healing!

I know he should be but I'm even surprised he told me about this. He keeps a lot to himself, I hope that doctor is doing him right. He is seeing him everyweek and checking it and redressing with meds. He even had him come in one day when the office was closed.

I appreciate all the prayers. He does back next Tuesday morning.

Thanks I will. I appreciate all the prayers I know he will need them. I'm very worried but as the "eldest" mother he won't listen.

Cheryl, we're at the point with George's legs and feet that the wound center asks for my opinion. I can honestly say that I can dress anything now.

It's really hard trying to do things long distance, especially when he doesn't talk with you much about his issues. Thankfully his doctor seems to be staying on top of it. Will keep healing thoughts and prayers for him. :happy94:

Prayers for George & you also Pam. It really is difficult and I hope to get down there soon but I'm waiting to see if he will be having surgery. I know I would want to be there forf that.

Thank you everyone. We all have our health problems don't we. My mother always used to say that the "Golden Years" were not Golden.
