April Card Sketch Challenge: SPLATS, SPLOTCHES AND SWIPES
Posted: Fri Apr 03, 2015 9:35 pm
Okay I got a little behind in my sketch making...so sorry. As I was dreaming up a sketch and getting nowhere I was looking at a NBUS of mine.
Yes! It's one of those pretty stamps I had to have and then had no idea what to do with it. So hence my sketch which is more of a technique challenge than a card design.
The objective is to use watercolors (splats), inks (splotches) and brush markers (swipes) or anything else to deliver some blocks of colors to create the background for those hard to use stamps. Really, just about any stamp will work with these different techniques. As the week goes by I will add a few step-by-step ideas on some very easy techniques which will most likely be available to you all to try. For now I just wanted to get this up and running so you can all start thinking about what you want to do. This got my creative juices going and I am looking forward to making more of this type of card and more importantly seeing your interpretation of my crazy idea.
This sketch is pretty basic. The first card was made with the feather cluster, the NBUS I spoke of. For the second card, I used what was right in front of me and just shows that any stamp works with this fun background technique.
Anything goes here so GO FOR IT!
