December 2014 KICK START Card Sketch Challenge

Like others have said, why wait? So here is my plan, such as it is: I will make a card each month and then make a sketch from it. I cruised the zillions of card sketches out there and as inspiring as they were I felt woozy after an hour or more of pinning them. I work better doing a stream of consciousness type card and then I'll go backwards and create a sketch. At least that is what I've done here. Hopefully my lame sketch combined with my actual card will make sense to you all. Got questions? ASK!

My version looks a bit tame but I do like my colors and elements. It could be a good guy card even. You may do with it whatever you wish. Make it your own. Look at my elements and think how you can substitute them with your own ideas. My hope is this will just get you inspired to make a card and have fun with it.

Suggestions: Where I mention pattern or solid paper...you can make your own backgrounds. For the border design I used a die cut (I liked how my "Xs" fit inside the circles to look like hugs and kisses)...you could use washi tape.

So thanks for joining, HAVE FUN and I can't wait to see your cards here.

Wow you're quick!!! Thanks. I was just writing to Jen and Nancy saying that my sketch is more interesting than the actual card.

Now I will need to make another one.

Thanks everyone.

Nancy, the "stitching" is a long skinny die of little Xs to look like stitching. You know me...I don't sew.

You'll be like me, feeling like you have to post another one on December 1.
My layout sketch seems to have run it's course.

This must be a first. Well, I'm on a tear to make some Thanksgiving cards so I went right to work on this sketch. Used a stamp from Unity so I can play on their Friends with Flair challenge Friday. The papers are from the Paper Studio Mirabelle paper stack I bought at Hobby Lobby in Wisconsin while at Retreat 2010. Have never even cracked it open. The dies are my new favorite Nestabilities. You've seen them before. The tag dies are from Technique Tuesday. The border is from My Favorite Things. Whew! That's a lotta product. I'll have to also post this in a cyber crop thread for extra credit.

Thanks so much, Farley, for starting this thread up again. I missed it. I need to be lead.

I like the sketch and the fact that it features stamping as the focal point. Love the ferns, Farley, and nice Thanksgiving card, Jen!
