My cards may be late arriving, life has
interfered in spades. We had to take
my husband to the ER the end of February and he was admitted for
a week for muscle deterioration and his troponin levels were off
the wall, so they had to have a cardiology consult, but it was due
the the muscle deterioration, then they find that he had
an inguinal hernia that turns out to need a complicated surgery
instead of an easy fix. Same week I thought I had bronchitis and
went to Urgent Care for an rx for a zpak, instead I turned up with
pneumonia and 2 different antibiotics. Now, Hubby is in rehab to build
up his strength for surgery and I'm trying to keep up with
everything. Thank God for my daughter, who even though her own
husband has Alzheimer's, has been a wonderful help with
communicating with the surgeon's office and seeing the rehab people when
they are on the site since I don't get out of work until after 6 PM and
she gets out at 2 PM.
Hopefully, I'll get to work on my cards this weekend If I don't just
sleep two days away

Elizabeth, please don't worry about the cards. Concentrate on taking care of yourself and your husband and getting the rest you need. I'm sorry you're going through all this.

OMGosh Elizabeth! This is way too much for anyone to cope with. So glad your daughter has been so much help. Forget the cards and take care of yourself. I hope hubby’s rehab goes well as well as the upcoming surgery. And please keep us posted and thank you for sharing what is going on with you.

Believe me, you are in my thoughts...see why below.

So I’ve been wondering when I was going to post anything but Elizabeth’s bravery inspired me to do the same. In late January Bob had a “mild” heart attack. We were home when it happened. Short story, his troponin level was elevated and spent two days in hospital. He has at this point in time, declined to do anything invasive. His cardiologist is working with him, slowly increasing the pile of meds every two weeks. He is actually feeling better than before the attack. His energy is improving and he has been more active in this last week than for the past year. (No he isn’t kayaking...just easy walks and tasks about the house or with a friend.). He will be joining a supervised cardio group soon too.

This was the reason I bailed on the RAK box moving about and the stamp set. I’m trying to keep a balance on my time and do things that best aid my stress level. Having Charley at home still has been a real help also.

Oh, Farley, I thought you had been a bit quiet lately. I'm so sorry to hear this news about Bob, but am glad that he is improving.
I'm sure you're taking good care of him, but be sure to take care of yourself also.

Oh my! Elizabeth - please don't worry about the cards. That's the last thing anyone wants you to do right now. You have a full plate without putting additional stress on yourself to do this.

Farley, I am so sorry to hear that Bob is having cardiac issues. The rehab will help in many ways.

Thank goodness you both have some help on hand. Maybe we should start our own PAO cardiac patient support group?? Sending prayers for all. :happy94:
