That's the one, Farley! A fairly new Jeep that some idjit drove onto the beach and promptly got stuck. My favorite so far was the young man who played Amazing Grace on the bagpipes at the funeral service for it.

It looks like Dorian is finally heading out to sea and the worst has passed. Hoping all is well with Debi and Cheryl.

Debi says the power crews know where the problems are - waiting for winds to die down. In Waves/Rodanthe the flooding hasn’t come across Hwy 12. The sun is even shining a bit.

Waiting to hear back from Cheryl.

Cheryl posted on FB that they're fine. I'm too lazy and hungry to hunt for the post right now.

And the sun came out!! Not sure it’s equipped to “dry up all the rain” but it’s a start. This is all just rainwater in the front yard of the house I’m staying in. Highway should be drivable tomorrow so I’ll head home then.

Lots of awful flooding at the southern end of our island. Ocracoke island south of us is seeing worse flooding than ever before. So sad. It’s a lovely island with an old village.

My next big project may be to scan and photograph all layouts and have them backed up. 5 feet of flooding inside my house would have broken my heart. That’s what some of these folks had. So sad.

So glad to hear that your home escaped flooding! If you scan your LOs, save them to the Cloud, too. After this last fiasco with the computer and then loosing the external that I store my photos on I've finally convinced George to save them on another server, also. Thank goodness he had just backed up the entire computer AND the external to another external. Redundancy is sometimes a good thing.

Power is restored and I’m back home!!

Wanted to put an idea in your heads. If you have some generic cards or “thinking of you” cards in your stashes, it’s be awesome if you could send some with a little note and maybe just your first name signed. We’ll see that they get distributed to families whose homes were damaged or destroyed in this flooding. You can send them to me and we’ll make sure they get sent down with supplies.

Mike actually thought of this. He has good ideas sometimes.

Thanks!!
