The Deck of Art challenge is where you use old playing cards as a base for altered art. Once card is chosen per week, with a theme, and results are posted here.
It's amazing - the flotsam and jetsam that collects on the edges of our workspace.
This is my 3 of Hearts redux. And the only reason why this was available is because the dratted cat ate most of what this used to be.
This cat is a real PITA. I came in here just a few minutes ago and he was on my desk trying to carry off a stamp. I don't understand what his fixation is with my things.
There is a door, but we have to leave it open as the furnace/AC air intake is on the other side of it. We tried to replace it with a louvered door but couldn't find one that's the right size. So I have to close my work space up when I walk away, which is very inconvenient.
The mind boggles that you had that quote on your desk, Paula! I remember those, too, on my way home from school stopping at the candy store. That was back when many things were really a penny.
I tried to keep with my childhood BOM theme with this one and it was tough, because I only had one little discarded picture from one of the other deck of art challenges, but I managed to find enough scraps and discarded art from other projects to finally put something together. Even the letters for Desk Art were the positive images from a diecut title I made for a LO about Arches NP. This is a great theme and I really felt my creativity stretched and I soooooo wanted to peek in my drawers and files for something extra, but I kept it true to what was only on my desk.
