The Deck of Art challenge is where you use old playing cards as a base for altered art. Once card is chosen per week, with a theme, and results are posted here.
I have nothing here but ugly white paper napkins...going to a wedding June 7th and thinking of waiting and using their napkin for my card...I'm sure they'll have something pretty as the colors are greens and blues....hmmmm, refresh, maybe?
I've finally got mine finished. I cheated a bit as the napkin had flowers on it. Background is the TJ madras technique. A happy accident - when I applied the gel to both sides of the napkin section, it basically became transparent, so the background showed through. I've really got to remember to hold onto pretty napkins.
I bought this napkins years ago.. to craft.. never touched them.. thanks for the opportunity to finally use one for crafting.. I have used them for cocktails.. LOL
I used two napkins-a stylized Wm. Morris grape design underneath which inspired the theme and a tiedye type print on the top. Also added flowers and ribbon. My apologies to Omar Khayyam for adapting the quote. I couldn't forget the cheese!
Hi Marianne - welcome back, and with such a nice colourful card! Very artsy to use the two napkins - it' gives a good result. The saying is nice, and I totally agree with your addition!
