Yep.... most of our problem is flooding from the Pamlico Sound on the west... right now we're getting overwash in some areas (near the new little bridge) due to the high ocean storm surge... that will get worse and we're pretty sure we'll see some more breaches of the dunes... hopefully not major damage to the highway pavement... the road clearing vehicles are already staged and ready to clear the roads as soon as this passes through ... our DOT is awesome!!

Mike and I will go to the fire station tomorrow... a few things left to do to prep the house and then we'll be ready.

Being way more prepared this time around than in Irene.... taking more clothes with us to the station... LOL

Hopefully the wind won't knock the dishes off the satellite tower so we don't lose phones like last time...

Anyway.... Mike and I are movie stars now, too... we were at a breakfast this morning and the Norfolk news filmed it... so you know things aren't really happening yet... if they needed to film us dishing up our eggs. LOL

Just wondering - did everyone print photos to work on during the storm?? I found a few, and bought a couple of new canvases to work on, too.

That was fun to see you in the video, Debi. I hope someone eats all those eggs!

I didn’t need to print any. I have a drawer full of older pictures.

Court is cancelled until Monday so i get to go back to work tomorrow. It’s a major construction zone (less than 10 feet from our office). The IT guy still doesn’t have us set up to work from home yet. Don’t know if we’ll work Friday or not! If roads are passable, I should be heading back to court on Monday. I lucked out - big time. My fellow jurors are a hoot. We’re working on a screenplay. It gets more bizarre as this drags on!

Breakfast was yummy. Had bbq ribs for dinner. No news crew though.

Hope all the inland folks stay safe! Heard there was some evacuation in Raleigh. That could get crazy.

I've got cardstock, ink, stencils, stamps, and embossing powder packed. Looking forward to a couple days of sitting still. I'm exhausted from packing things.

According to the 8:00 update, things are looking a lot better for our area. I hope there's improvement for everyone else, too. This storm is wonky!

Downgraded to a Cat2 this morning. But still going to be a big storm and be windy and rainy for a few days. So river flooding is a big issue. Stay safe!!

I just stopped by to check in on all of you east coasters. It sounds like you're well-prepared. Stay safe! You'll continue to be in my thoughts as you ride this thing out!

Checking in. Last I checked this morning it was down to a 2. We're at the fire station. Chevie is getting used to it slowly. She's not at all sure what's up.

There is ocean overwash so we'll see what happens in the next 36 hours or so.

Saw your video on the news link, Debi. Hope you're at the Fire Dept by now. The Weather Channel has a news crew just 9 blocks from my house in Morehead. It's hard sitting here in Raleigh seeing what's going on there. But at the same time good to see how the conditions are. Fox News has one at Atlantic Beach. They're getting the outer bands since early this morning as well I'm sure the Outer Banks are too. Everyone please be safe and keep checking in as you can.

Some of these weather channel guys drive me crazy! They are SO dramatic. Others are really good and give you interesting facts and genuine updates, but the others really have nothing productive to say.
