Sue-- your list is so precise, I am glad I didn't show up on it. 
And here's my take, at long last - Journal reads: "I remember one thing in particular that endlessly annoyed me and that I continued to struggle against throughout my childhood: it was my Mum’s and Gran’s love for dolling me up in pretty dresses with bows in my hair, particularly considering Gran’s predilection for girly pink, which has never been one of my favourite colours…
