Die cutting tools have always made me very happy, even if I don't use them much. But lately, I find that the thin dies really don't work that well, so it's started being a bit of a turn-off. I have to get my scissors in there and finish almost every cut. Anyway, I'd love to find a whole new tool to play with.
Have you tried using some wax paper? I rarely need to use it, mostly helpful for detail dies and/or words. Sometimes that metal plate shim helps a lot. I don't have too much trouble with mine, and new plates seem to help A LOT.

Have you tried shims with the thin dies? When I have the same problem often even an extra piece of paper in the sandwich will create enough pressure. I've still got some of those old adhesive sheets from back in my QuicKutz days, so if I consistently have the problem with the same thin die I try to add the adhesive shim to the back. But I know what you mean - it is frustrating. If I have that problem with the first die I try of a new-to-me brand, I generally don't buy any more of them.

Amy Tan's new collection is really pretty!
Loads of raves about Tim's new Distress color - something pistachio. Maybe I would like it in person? It looks a bit harsh to my eye in photos.

Yeah, it does look a bit harsh but I've never thought any of the labels on the inkpads are accurate.

Is it the Stitched line, Pam, or is there a newer release?

Pistachio? So odd. Just yesterday I was browsing in Chico Scrapbooks and wondering why T!m hadn't released any new colors. Now he has!

Ooh. Ohhhhhh. They're going to release a new color every month in 2015. And the minis will be available individually. Good news.

Well I had to look. Did not look at many but I do like a lot of those word dies. I don't know why but they really do hit the spot for me.
Didn't see the punches but I may have to have some of them one day also.
pamcook wrote:I've seen a few things that caught my eye. Shimelle has a new line I'm anxious to see. I have a ton of her first collection left so I'll probably be a lot more selective with her second. So far, Hip Kit Club has been good about choosing the more currect products so I don't feel like my stash is getting stale. I do like the new Basic Grey collection. Maybe not enough to buy a lot of it.

Looking forward to finishing the last bits on my Journal Your Christmas project (my photos arrive this week) and back to vacations & grandkids.

Tim has stepped up his game. I need 5 of his new punches. Hope bluemoon sells them!

Found another one I really like-thanks to Keitha! October Afternoon's Saturday Morning collection. The old TVs are so cute.
So, besides marquee letters, are lightbulbs going to be the motif of the year? I'm noticing a lot of them.

When you think about it, lightbulbs are in keeping with marquee letters. Where else are you seeing them?

Shimelle has a light bulb design on one of her papers. I haven't been able to get a good look at the embellishments.

I've seen the lightbulbs in a few other collections.

But, wait, some people were talking about cool tools at this CHA. I found it! One of Noell Hyman's videos was We R Memory Keepers Photo Fuse to custom make page protector pockets. I think this is great.

I hope light bulbs catch on. Ha ha. I bought a die last year and stamps that coordinate.
