Probably not the thread for this but I hope everyone will read this.
If you're considering hosting a get-together where you live, here are some tips -
#1 - just do it
#2 - you'll never find a date that works for everyone so just do it
#3 - choose a location convenient for you. You'll be doing a lot of behind the scenes work (it's a labor of love but it's work) so at least make the location convenient for you
#4 - keep it non-frills - more people can afford to come and most people would rather spend the extra money on the next trip to the craft store
#5 - find local food for caterers - the prices are usually more affordable but splurge a little on the food - we can all get pizza at home
#6 - you'll probably never find a place big enough - we have the ability to overfill every space available - the actual crafting room is the most difficult to find - once you have it nailed down, get your lodging reserved.
#7 - encourage swaps - they are a lot of fun
#8 - just do it!
