Dina Wakley
Dina Wakley
I attended one of her classes yesterday at our local Craft Fusion. It was a lot of fun and she gave us a bunch of goodies. She lives here and didn't have to pay for any shipping so she passed that extra savings onto us in the form of Dina goodies. The workshop was from 10 am to 4 pm and as much as I love this type of thing, sitting for that long was hard on the back. We had 1/2 hour lunch to stretch. Just getting old!! LOL Even with that said I would take another of her classes.
Here are some photos I took:

Wow such talent! Was any of that art yours? What did you actually work on, portraits?

Aren't you lucky to have such a well known local teacher! I'd like to try one of those journals of hers with the different textured pages. I need to fill up a few others first though.

Looks great, Deb. Every once in a while I check the website of probably the only scrapbook store left in Colorado Springs (I've actually never been there), and noticed that she will be there in September. Unfortunately, the dates don't work for me, but if they did, I would be very tempted to sign up for a class.

Yes, the page with the girl on it is mine and the silhouette people are mine. She taught us how to draw a face and the face of the girl she literally drew is under 1 minute. The class was a variety of tips and techniques and she gave us a code for one of her online classes to take for free. She had 2 classes she offered. The one I took was with the journal with the different substrates called the Dina Wakley Media Journal. It was provided in the class fee. We used the kraft, canvas, water color and burlap in the class. The canvas was what we drew the face on. I'm not showing my face, I thought it was awful but she said for a first time face it was great......she must tell everyone that. LOL
Re: Dina Wakley
She also gave us this cool pen that writes like butter on mixed media called Fude Ball1.5. It's the slickest pen I have seen to date.
