2016 February Card Sketch Challenge - Draw It, Color It!
2016 February Card Sketch Challenge - Draw It, Color It!
Yes, you are going to draw. I know, I know..."but I can't draw". Well neither can I but that didn't stop me.
In the spirit of The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge that some of us are going to try to participate in, I thought this would be a helpful addition to committing 10 minutes a day for coloring. Take various types of card stock and watercolor paper, a good drawing pen (resistant to inks and paint if possible) and draw a flower, circles, squares and rectangles and just have fun with it. It's amazing how bad my drawings looked, but after coloring them they improved...well a little anyway. As you can see, my rectangle was lame looking as a plain drawing but after using water colors on it and some embellishing with gel pens it has a certain appeal. Bob actually commented that he thought it was pretty!!! The flower was fun to do also. I hadn't used my Copics in ages and this exercise reminded me that I need to keep up my practice using them.
This is all for fun and relaxation if not a little outside some of our comfort zones. No worries...HAVE FUN!

Wow Farley...but where does "lame" come into play? Don't see any issues with your drawing!
These are great!
Thanks for the challenge.

Hey thanks everyone for your positive reaction to my challenge. I hope in a day or so I'll turn my goofy rectangle art into a card also. I really had fun doodling and coloring and I'm itching to make more.

The first one I stamped and the second one I actually drew!! It's your chance for a good belly laugh!

Debbie this is fabulous! Your flower is very artfully drawn and painted. What did you use to color/paint it with? And your stamped one is great...that background is similar to the drawn one. How was that done? Thanks for jumping in.

The drawing looks fine and I'm curious about the background or over stamping, too.
Re: 2016 February Card Sketch Challenge - Draw It, Color It!
That background stamp looks like it's from a CS kit. I don't know which one off the top of my head, but I recognize it. Might be Rhapsody.
Great cards, ladies!

I used 2 of the new Tim Holtz distress inks on a white background and I stamped over all of it with a 2x3 inch stamp that came in a Christy Tomlinson kit. It covers a multitude of flaws too! Thanks for the comments.
Re: 2016 February Card Sketch Challenge - Draw It, Color It!
Colored it with Copic markers also
Re: 2016 February Card Sketch Challenge - Draw It, Color It!
Debbie! They've both so pretty.
I'm pretty sure I need one of those stamps that "covers a multitude of sins". I can't seem to create without dropping an ink pad or stamp on my projects.

Here's the stamp I used for texture. You can see it's been well used.
