Airedale Quilt Block
Airedale Quilt Block
I was asked to make a sample of a quilt block pattern that Airedale Rescue is selling. The lights a bit weird today so the blue looks really bright and the pinks a bit dull. So here is Straw Hat Girl:

Do you do all your appliqué by hand or machine? or combination of both?

Thanks, everyone, for your comments. The quilt this block came from is really cute, it is called Garden Party. I'm just sorry they didn't do more blocks as patterns to sell or expand a few of them into larger more complex wall hangings.ChristyB wrote:I love this!

And here is the whole quilt hanging in our friends' B and B at Wombat Bend outside of Melbourne, Australia. It is a very special place. http://www.wombatbend.com
Anyway, Christy, my sample block is all machine appliqued with fused raw edge pieces covered with satin stitch. If I have time and pieces are bigger, I'll do needle turned hand applique. Usually I do the freezer paper technique.
Ok, end of quilt talk for those who have no idea what I am talking about.
