Writing desk and pile 'o cards

Post by Monica »

For the last couple weeks I've been working on a "use up some stash" project, which started with a Kaisercraft writing desk to assemble. I pulled out some old BG Scarlett's Letter papers for that, and used the remaining sheets and scraps to make cards for it. I haven't decided who the recipient will be, so I've not finished embellishing the top of the desk yet. Once that was done I dug out the remains of G45 Once Upon a Sprintime papers and used them for cards, then the bits of G45 Birdsong for more cards. The cards are all blank inside, and most are generic cards that can be used for any occasion. I still need to dig out envelopes for them, and I'm thinking about microbeading a couple pens to put in with them. What do you all think?

Wow! You've been busy. Looks great! Love that Scarlett's Letter paper; think I have some of that somewhere.

Forgot to add that I used up a bunch of card bases from the drawer full of them, so that also has less in it! :cool5: I bought a large amount of card bases when I was doing the FFC thing briefly, because the gals I was working with preferred to make cards, and I still have way too many.....

Thanks, everyone! I think there's 75-80 cards in the box. Hopefully they'll all still fit once I put in the envelopes!

I have one more of the writing desk kits, so I may do up another set... if I can decide what papers to use.... ;)

WOW That is outstanding!! Kaisercraft make the coolest projects. I never even heard about that desk thing. Of course, I do live under a rock but still, I usually pay attention to Kaisercraft stuff.
Maybe you could donate it to some fundraiser as it seems like a lot to give to just one person as a gift.

I may keep the Scarlett's Letter cards with it and use the others for another gift... I haven't really decided one way or the other. I also pondered altering a composition book to put with it, so I may do that and take the other cards out for something else. I already took a bunch of stuff down to my sister for this year's Rett Syndrome fundraiser, so these will all end up being someone's Christmas present in one form or another.
