The pictures of the sand reminded me of the ones I took at our aquarium. Every summer they do sand sculptures. This summer it was in honor of the penguins. Thought you might enjoy these.

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks. I am always on the hunt for things I can use for textures. Thought I'd share this one too. Was looking in the workshop for stuff and found this piece of lattice. It had already been sprayed with a glossy white paint, so it didn't even had to be prepared. I sprayed inks through it and then turned it over so you can see the two different designs. I haven't used molding paste with it yet, but I'm sure I can. I have two different sizes to use, a big piece and a smaller piece. It has become one of my favorite stencils.

That piece of lattice has been around since I was young. I don't even remember what it was used for, but remember seeing it years and years ago. In looking around the workshop with a new eye for the use of objects, I've found some really neat things. I even found an old cigar box tucked away in a drawer. I also found a perfect wooden box for my sprays. I wanted something long and narrow.

Going to the again tomorrow and I'll hunt some more.

This can be addicting! Here's a digital collage of pictures taken of a beautiful sunset at Myrtle Beach this winter. Played with the originals to digitally alter them and then did the digital scrapbook page. I love to take original photos and just play with them.

Don't think I ever posted this watercolor. I did this on the beach my last trip. I just took my watercolors with me as I sat with my toes in the water and painted what I see when lazing in my little slice of heaven. The sun and wind proved to bring their own set of challenges but I powered through. Such hard work Did a little tweaking when I got home. Think I'll do it again this weekend.

This was done with Derwent's Inktense Blocks. They are a watersoluble ink block. The color is so much more intense than watercolor. Once they are dry, they become permanent. I've wanted to try them and so finally broke down and purchased a set. I love, love using them.

This is probably the last one. Getting ready to head to beach for the weekend. Gonna stick my butt in the sand and my feet in the water. Plan to play with my two youngest grands. It will be the babies first trip to beach. He won't remember but it's a tradition. Have a fun and safe holiday.

A walk on the beach for me is always a scavenger hunt as well. I'm always looking for cool shells and driftwood and any other beach finds that might work its way into an art project. Well, last week I found the shell of the summer. It's not even a whole shell, but it was perfectly weathered and had a natural hole in the middle for stringing, then I found these beautiful silvery gray beads with black splashes that went beautifully with it. I did almost nothing to the shell, I just buffed it with some fine steel wool. It has all this natural shimmery silver gilding on it (hard to show in the pic) and I think I have a gray pearl in AZ that I could suspend from a piece of wire in the hole of shell. Can hardly wait to wear it with a black shirt.

I'm not sure if this fits in here, but I think it may - I am working on getting the 2011-2012 Scrapbook done for our motorcycle group.....I used some paper from stash, stamps from Naturally, an Arizona map that I distressed.....and a Mini-book from TJ's Mini-book cd.

This is what I've been working on. I finished it late last night since I couldn't sleep. Excuse the wrinkled sheet in the background - the pig was disappearing into the jumbled mess behind him. The bird house was just a basic house, and I needed a way to make the pig fly. I finally came up with the idea for the clock tower, and from there it was just engineering. I'll break this down into several posts so you can take the tour around the house.
