NEW PROGRAMS

Post by troublesmom »

In the last 2 days I have bought new programs for my new computer so I need to learn Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Microsoft Office 2010. I am thinking I was crazy to get them both so close together since I also recently got Family Treemaker 2012. I really want Photoshop to help me with cropping my photos. I hope I didn't make a mistake. Any tips on any of these programs?

I don't really get along with ribbon bars (referring to the Office 2010 thing). So sadly I have no tips for you, except to say that if you can find a one-day class for an intro to the Office suite 2010, that it would be worth taking. There's so much available that you can do, and you only need 1/10th of it. A class that will tell you how to quickly find and use the 1/10th would be worth doing, IMO. :geek:

Cheryl - assuming that you plan to use PSE for photo editing and maybe some hybrid scrapbook pages, I still highly recommend Jessica Sprague's online classes. They're very reasonable, extremely easy to follow and you have lifetime access (especially important to me because I don't use PSE often enough to retain anything I learn).

I may look into them soon Pam. I do want it mainly for editing.

She might have a free class or two. Definitely check it out. She has a great teaching style.

Adobe also has a lot of free video tutorials. You may find something in there that helps. I learned PS by taking a week off and working my way through Classroom In a Book. It was one of the most relaxing weeks off I've ever had. Creative learning and nobody called me. It doesn't get any better than that!

Oh, oh. I feel a day at Cheryl's is in my future!

I recently upgraded to PSE 10. It's been on my shelf for quite a while and I finally installed it. Quite a jump from PSE 5!
