Zoners are like that - yes, they are...

I must have been in a weird mood yesterday. I tried to watch that video again last night and every time he said, "It's not wet - so it's dry." I would get a case of the giggles.

I just love his second sample (stamp with white paint and then add Distress Stains). Again, I'm more apt to pull out my paints and use them now.

I'm going in order, so I've watched the videos but not done the tech tags yet. Just finished up day 5 last night. Pam, that cracks me up each time too! Some idiot in the class asked about the exact thing he was saying when he called himself Captain Obvious, which is proof that they really should watch the videos at least 3-4 times through before posting..... *shaking head in disbelief*

I think that he is having fun--and his helpers are answering some of the stupid questions now.

the other good tip was spritzing the
dauber with water before putting it
away so that it stays moist

Spritzing the daubers/dabbers (which is it?) is a great idea, isn't it? That's why he's a creative genius in my mind.

Here are my day 8s done while I was in the wilds of New Jersey.
Tag 1: Cheapo acrylic paint left from my Mom's stash on the stamps. It's probably 10 years old at least.
Tag 2: Then my crackle paint lived to fight another day but it was very lumpy. I have real chunks of rock candy on tag 2 and 3 and it's over regular old two step crackle paint.
Tag 3: I cut some circles out of cardboard with pinking sheers. It's an interesting texture but I wouldn't call it Shattered Stains. It reminds me of those cookies that crack after you roll them in sugar.

Love that stamp on your first tag, Marianne. Here are mine from Day 8. The stamp I chose for the 1st tag was probably too detailed, but I like the colours. I've got issues with my Archival ink pad - I think it needs a shot of Refresher. I cannot get a nice black image even on smooth paper, even if I apply CPR. Love, love, love the Shattered Stains technique, and how this bird turned out in particular. I'm sure at some point I'll be swiping it off this tag to use on something more important.

Oh, wow, that bird did turn out well. No wonder you said you really liked that technique.

The stamps on that first tag of mine are from a set that Kathryn gave me so I assume they are English stamps. The packaging is long gone! I just arranged about 4 of them over the tag.
