Creative Chemistry Day 7

Post by Monica »

Not that I've had a chance to do more than download the videos and pdf, but here's the thread for those lucky enough not to have work interfere with play time. :anyone:

I notice that we are enabling pretty much everyone to sign up for these.... go us! :tomato:    I love that the videos can be downloaded and that I have lifetime access to go back and review again and again. The only criticism I've heard so far (no, not from anyone on this board) was that I wasn't posting techniques with my tags on my blog (yes, I actually started using the blog again). Umm... that's what the classes are for?

Go forth and create great art today! :creating:

If they want to know how to do it, then they can sign up for the classes. A lot of these techniques Tim has posted in the past, just not in this much detail. They can always look them up on youtube.

The faux batik technique is one of my favorites.

Here are my tags for Day 7. (I'm still marveling that I kept up with class and finished all my tags on Day 10, LOL.) You can't tell in the photo, but some of my embossing ink on the first tag melted smooth but didn't lift off - either my craft iron doesn't get hot enough, or I needed more absorbent paper. I think that Rusted Enamel technique looks more like Distressed Leather - but it's still cool. I need a lesson in shaking I guess - my release crystals when Distress Embossing always seem to be clumped together, so I end up with entire bare patches. What's a girl to do?

I worked on day 7 tonight
did all 3 tags then realized I did one wrong.
I embossed the image into the tag and embossed it.
tag 2 the embossing powder wouldn't stick and was falling off
before I got it heated.
tag 3 I used lavender distress ink, clear embossing powder.
