I'm not sure if it was Day 3 or not but Tim recommended "priming" your stamp with Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink. He said the ink would protect the clear stamps from damage (was it solvent ink that can damage them?) and prevent the blotching that sometimes happens.
I ordered the ink pad from Joann's and plan to spend a few hours priming my most often used stamps. I have so many black ink pads, I've put off buying a good black ink pad. This was the gentle nudge I needed.
When I pulled out my black StazOn tonight, I re-inked it. It felt good to understand the best way to re-ink.

Realized I haven't posted Day 3 tags, even though I did them last week. I'll get 'em posted later....

Wow, those look great!

For those of you who have all the Distress pads, which colors are the brightest?
I don't think their color charts are very accurate. My inkpads all seem to be muted.

Had a problem with the black Archival ink on the embossing folder transferring, so I added the stamped birds afterwards. I didn't have coloured Archival ink, so inked my stamps with VersaMark and then Distress Ink for the first layer - nice, distressed outcome.

Marianne, how bright are you talking? I find that the more intense colors for me are ones like Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans & Chipped Sapphire, Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Fired Brick & Festive Berries. Mine are fairly close to the lid colors (at least to my eyes). If you want brighter colors you almost have to go with the Archival pads, or the brighter Adirondack pads or alcohol inks.

Thanks, Monica! I have a few of those and have ordered a few more. I never think they look like the lid colors!

I didn't have bright colors for Archival either - so I used my Club Scrap hybrid inks and they seemed to work well!
