This week's theme is guilty pleasures and I thought this slide of me (2yrs old) dipping into the candy dish on grandma's coffee table worked perfectly. The picture was really out of focus so I posterized it in PSE. I still love those colorful hard candies we get around the holidays and they were a staple at my grandma's house.

That is a great layout!! Are those candies you are eating called ribbon candies? My grandma used to have them too!

My mother always had them, too. The dollar store across from the office sells them at Christmas time. My favorites were the ones with a smidge of jelly or chocolate inside. Grandmomma Maring used branches from a thorny bush and put spiced jelly beans on them. Yum.

I'm loving your trip down memory lane - it seems to be taking all of us with it!

Glad you all are enjoying the trip down memory lane with me. I don't know what those candies are called, but there was a dish of them at every Christmas I can remember at her house.

Really thought there would be no slide this week to meet the theme of Beverage routines. But, lo and behold, I came across these pics from Christmas dinner 1965 and every single person at the table has a cup of black coffee at their place and sure enough, every family gathering I remember and still to this day we gather around the table with our coffee and chat about life.

Another terrific layout Rachelle. I love coffee also, that would be my beverage of choice.

Since the theme for this week is to do with National Cardmaking Day or another craft, I chose to scrap the pics of my great grandmother's sewing machine which I recently inherited. And, I scanned the last of the slides in this week. Whoo hoo! what an accomplishment.

Those poppies are gorgeous!
Congratulations on getting the slides scanned. I wish I could say mine are finished. What are you going to do with the slides?

Thanks! My scanner only scans positive or negative film so I had to take them out of the slide cases. I saved all the film in an envelope though and I guess I'll just store them with my other negatives.

I had to go through the slides several times to finally come up with one that fit the theme of music this week. Almost missed the deadline last night. I spied the old stereo console behind me in this photo. Must have been my holiday dress for this year. And I loved those wire work peacocks we had on the wall. I wonder whatever happened to them? That old stereo sure brings back memories though. My parents listened to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, Glen Yarborough and the Limelighters, and Neil Diamond's Hot August Night played for hours.
