Glassine Flowers

Post by azemigh »

I thought the glassine tech that Tim posted on his blog the other day looked kind of cool, so decided to give it a try. However,.......no glassine here. Started looking through my art paper pads and came across a substitute, the divider sheets in a pad of pastel paper (they are also in charcoal pads). I tried the tech exactly as he showed on his blog and it seemed to work perfectly. I used the Tattered Flowers die and layered all the different colors that I tried out.

Those do look very much like what Tim did with his paper. Was your paper shiny to start with?

Really dumb thought, but wouldn't a heavy waxed paper work? Might be a slightly lighter weight, but same effect?

Thanks everyone! I'm not sure if waxed paper will work or not. The paper I had did not have a waxy coating, but it was very smooth, thin and slightly glossy. It crumpled wonderfully. When you crumple waxed paper the coating breaks, so you might get a different result. Probably worth a try though.

Love those! And I love that you found a suitable substitute and avoided having to buy a specific product to try the technique. It seemed to work really well.

I wonder if Palette paper would work? I have a whole pad of that from a time when I was trying to make my own rub-ons. Hmmmm
