Anyone do image transfers with joint compound?
If you did what exactly did you do?

Try using it like a gel transfer. You might want to try letting it sit various times to see which gives the best transfer. If it works, let us know!

Not sure if you mean joint compound or caulking? I've done caulking transfers...use elmer's clear compound...brush over area, place image side down..and smooth DO NOT GET COMPOUND ON TOP OF THE IMAGE!...let dry 24 hours and soak with water and rub away paper. Use lots of water...you can soften the edges with sanding. I also have notes here that say you can use inkjet, toner, or laser copies....I did a lot of transfer methods about two years ago and kept notes in my art book about each method I tried.

I've used joint compound with stencils but not for transfers.
I used wide clear packing tape for transfers.

Hadn't thought about it with stencils. That would be a great way to get texture. May have to take a trip to Lowe's this afternoon.

joint compound or molding paste works equally well for this....I did a collage using tinted molding paste for my journal class in Oct and used the crafter's workshop tree stencil with it....

So - Christy - how did it turn out? I imagined that it would work like gel medium.

I was surprised when I saw a Suze W video where she did a transfer with beeswax. Go figure.

Pam, it's really pretty easy to do transfers with wax...I think easier than a lot of the other methods, at least.
