napkin art canvas

Post by Ruth Ann Landry »

As I said last week...my muse has taken a vacation the past few months but visited long enough to inspire me to do this....I used a flat canvas, covered in paper, adhered face image, decorated with cutouts from various napkins, then stamped vine and leaf images with distress inks...all in all...I'm happy with the result....

hmmmmmm....there seems to be a flash glare around her forehead and face...sorry!

Outstanding! (did I see this technique in a Somerset mag? I love your version!!!)
You did a great job of coordinating the colors - it really is very nice!

Makes me think of the Mona Lisa. Love the cutting job. Your napkins came out great. I have tried it last week and all I got was a mess with a lot of wrinkles on the napkin. Yours came out very smooth. Love the face!

I found that the napkins adhere more smoothly when the background has the adhesive put onto it instead of trying to glue over the napkin..I then smoothed it down with my finger....
