Strange Plantlife
Strange Plantlife
I was out cruising around the property yesterday, looking for interesting plants that might be growing and came across these growing out of an old stump. I don't think they're a fungus, maybe a bromiliade (sp?). Anyway, they reminded me of a marching band so I thought they'd look cool on All That Jazz.

It almost looks like a strangely colored asparagus, doesn't it? Interesting.
Re: Strange Plantlife
After searching for awhile I have found them--Fungus Flowers.

Re: Strange Plantlife
That's really weird. The leaves are a separate plant, right?
Re: Strange Plantlife
Yep, that plant has been there the whole time; never really changes. These things just showed up. And no wonder, I just read that this the second wettest spring on record for Oregon.mpizzazz wrote:That's really weird. The leaves are a separate plant, right?

I think it is so cool that you saw a marching band and scrapped it as such in the quote. What a great way to make a unique spread.
