I shake the heck out of it. I just can't tell when it's done. Think I'm going to just burn the darned mess and have done with it.

In order to make sure it's done I do a two-step heat. I heat it up till I think it's done and let it cool, don't touch it then heat it again for just as long as the first time, then cool and then touch; if it feels like sand paper it's done; if it feels like beach sand heat it again.

If it makes you feel any better, I've had about a dozen ideas that haven't actually panned out into ATCs and I need to get my 18 done! I will be swapping on the 5th after we get back from the in-laws' house, and mailing on the 6th... make sure they are here by then and we're good.
