Altered Dominoes

Post by pugmom »

I've been multi-crafting this weekend. While one thing was drying, I was working on another. Here are some altered dominoes I did yesterday.

Sue, they are beautiful!
Will you make pendants with them?

Most likely they'll be pendants, but I was also thinking about keychains. I just don't know how the Diamond Glaze would hold up to keychain abuse.

Love 'em...need to get my dominoes out again. I made pendants awhile back and gave as gifts.

Love them Sue! I like the one with the butterfly the best. How did you do them? It has been ages since I tried to do these.

Cheryl, they're really very easy. First I have my husband drill the hole. Then I alcohol ink the front and sides and glue on a pretty background paper. On top of that goes any special images, such as the little girls or the butterfly, or stamping. Then I put a coat of bookbinding glue over that to seal it. After the glue is dry, put the Diamond Glaze on. I used two coats, letting it dry really well in between.

You can also stamp directly on the dominoe with staz-on ink, or just go with the alcohol inks.

I should really pull out my alcohol ink one of these days soon and play with them.

I bought a set of dominos a long time ago
to try this out but never got up the nerve to
do it. I really should pull them out and make them
stare me in the face until I at least try something
with them
