Altered Recipe box

Post by Dani Larcom »

I haven't created any art on my own (when I wasn't sitting in a class or doing ALSB) in a LONG time, and I was finally inspired to create this week. I had this box that my DH gave me a while back and it was perfect to hold the note cards I have been writing all my noteson for work lately.

** edit - bear with me - new computer and I'm trying to learn photo editing in this one. It compressed one out of three photos. I'll try and upload the third photo . . .

Photo three . . .

And mind you, the photos were taken at 7 pm with my cell phone so the color saturation is not wonderful. You can't really appreciate the paint colors at all!!

Dani, this is awesome!!!! Love the embellies. Do you mind if I borrow the idea of using the letters on the box.
I made one too and have been trying to decide what to do with the front. I think I am going to use mine for POPS so I think it should have that on there somewhere.
Hope it is okay to borrow the idea!

Borrow away Julie!!

I actually rusted the feet myself. I soaked them overnite in lemon juice, then for about 12 hours in salt. The salt is what brings out the rust. The lemon juice just takes off the sheen. It was my first go round with this technique, and next time, I'll leave more juice on the metal when I add the salt.
