metalized coasters...FINISHED!

Post by Ruth Ann Landry »

Julie S was my secret sister last Feb and she sent me this cool coaster set to do...so glad I waited until I had some metal lessons! The base is not yet finished and will not be done in metal....gotta think on that...I chose the pink metal and the appltini green...I may give these to my DD for a house warming gift as her new house has a lot of very pale pink.....

Oh wow! Love them!
Could you use cork for the bases?

I spose it's possible, but I'd wonder if the cork would crumble after a while...I finished the base and am pleased with it.....it's pressboard, i think, so very sturdy...

Here is the finished project...I painted pink, covered top in paper, used medium to seal and waterproof, attached ribbon around edge.....

LOL! I was thinking you meant the base of each coaster. Love the way you finished the BASE!
The whole project is just lovely!
