Scraps Challenge
Scraps Challenge
Yesterday a friend passed along a link to the blog for Papertrey stamps. I came across a challenge they had last week to use scraps. There were tons of good ideas both from their design team and posters who sent links to their samples.

This morning I used some leftover little cards from a GTG kit to make gift enclosures with scraps and embellies that I throw in a tray on my table. All I got up for were a two flowers and to grab a bag of paper scraps out of a few drawers. I was surprised at how cute these turned out. On a few of them I left space for a greeting later.
The larger card in the front fits in half of an invitation A2 envelope, laying down in front. You cut the envelope in half through the gummed flap and fasten it down then glue or sew up the side. The idea is the second one down on the blog.

Re: Scraps Challenge
Great cards! I especially like that plaid background. Funny how once I do a new technique, I really appreciate it more when I see other people use it.

very cool! thanks for the link, I'm going over to check it out.
Re: Scraps Challenge
Really cute cards!! I need to do something with my scraps too. My scrap box has paper that's nearly a decade old - there's seriously no excuse. Thanks for the inspiration!

Re: Scraps Challenge
Separate them by color and put them in a bag then store them with your full sheet papers of the same color. Go in the bag first before reaching for a full sheet to cut up. Once you sort them, it's easy to use them.jfugina wrote:Really cute cards!! I need to do something with my scraps too. My scrap box has paper that's nearly a decade old - there's seriously no excuse. Cool - I have a lot of my scraps - sorted by color in about 5 pb's. Just looked at the link you sent and I think I need to do some scrap cards again..........

Re: Scraps Challenge
Great suggestion Marianne! I think sorting all those scraps sounds like a job for Nicole and Jake.

Re: Scraps Challenge
Absolutely, Julie, I was thinking of suggesting that you get the kids to 'help'. Might take longer but it will be more fun and there will probably be some scraps that they will be glad to take off your hands.
Re: Scraps Challenge
gorgeous cards!!! I have my scraps in an accordian file by color. When dd needs paper for school projects, thats the first place she heads.
