creating a signature for an art journal

Post by ChristyB »

I took 4 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper
(I have 100 of these green ones and NEED to use them up--100-don't ask)

fold each one in half

stack them together and punch evenly spaced holes in the crease
(only if you are stitching) you can staple or leave loose if desired

I then made 2 stacks of 2 (personal preference here) and stitched together.

because I really don't want to make everybody use the green I covered each side of the paper with a layer of gesso.
(you do not have to do this unless you want) I like gesso and pretty much gesso everything

my signature is now ready to be worked in

Did you use waxed floss? I used something similar (not the right thing) and it fell apart. I think I needed waxed floss?

I think it's called waxed linen. I actually found several large bobbins of it at Big Lots a few years ago for $1 each.
