First Tri Shutter Card Attempt-Tut Link Added

Post by mpizzazz »

Finished this the other day and finally got some decent photos of it.
The white bkg paper is wrapping paper I got on a gift last week and the black bkg is a piece of plastic that a friend gave me to do something with it.

I did decorate the back a little and put the printed side of the paper to the back. It's from Artifacts kit.

These are fun to do but I won't be churning them out by the dozen!

Good job -
My first one was a bit of a chore but I think you could come up with a pattern of sorts that would speed them up.

I love these Marianne! I tried to do one a while back and got the cuts and scoring all messed up. The card didn't fold properly at all. I'm going to try it again sometime, but I was really confused at how I'd messed it up so horribly. I didn't even get to the point where I would have been cutting the patterned paper sections. Those would likely have been a bigger mess. :-)

Great job Marianne! I never decorated the back of mine just the fronts. I loved doing them and after you get the hang of it Julie they really are fun.

Nicely done Marrianne. I know it can be a trial at first to get the cuts and folds right, but it does get easier, and people really like to get these cards. I decided I wanted to do one with a flat front, and so I worked out the cuts and folds with that in mind, and it turned out quite nice as well.

Thanks very much!
Julie, I have two or three abandoned attempts I tried to do before I had looked at Cheryl's and others here and the tuts online about 10 times. I had the bits sticking out all ways so it would never go in an envelope! My bone folder was working overtime. I think once you start adding the papers, it makes more sense.

It just seemed a shame to cover up the patterned side so I made that the back side where I could write a message. Then one thing led to another with adding stuff to the back.

I think I will try the flat fronted version next as I like that, too, Holly.

Your card turned out great. I have one started using Autumn splendor papers......put it aside and need to get it back out one of these days. I've been making Herringbone cards.....and some general all purpose cards.

Marianne, Beautiful card. And great job of re-purposing old materials.

I'm itching to make one. Did one with paper, just to try to get the engineering down and didn't do a great job. I need to tackle it again.

I love them. And yours is especially impressive.

Cute card. I am going to have to try one of those. We have gotten my Grandmother stuck on making those cards and she loves them.
