I knew right away what I would do for this topic.

Journalling reads: Whenever we reminisce about when the boys were little, there are three Tyler-isms we always remember.
Daw Daw - His name for Colin
No Me Know
Bampox - We have no idea where this came from, but between the ages of 2 and 3, this was his go-to word for everything.

Here's mine:
Clip Journal reads: "I cannot come up with any Petra-isms as my mother can’t remember any, other than my being unable to pronounce an “r”, therefore calling myself “Peta”! What I heard most in terms of my early vocalisation was that I didn’t want to speak at all, not even mama, papa or dada. I hardly made any noise apart from laughing or crying, and tried to communicate with expressions and gestures (I’m still fond of silences!), until I was fully two years old, when I would suddenly say whole sentences. My Mum has always proudly told me that the first thing I ever said was “Peta want dada” (well, the German equivalent). She also admitted that she was rather anxious because all other babies my age were saying words! Photo Oct 1966"

The journal also explains the connection of that epoxy sticker I added on the card - for my mother being worried...

The quote on the card comes from my daughter, Robin, when she was in about 3rd grade. We were driving home from what might have been her first haircut and styling in a salon. (Previously, my Mom had always cut it.) She kept feeling her puffy new bob and finally said, I feel so bourgeois! Of course, what she meant was, I feel so bouffant! What amazed us was that she actually knew both of those words even if she did use it wrongly. We still chuckle about it.

Marianne - lovely story! And I like the card with all those old hair style piccies!

Maritza - you hit the nail on the head! That's SO true for most kids these days...

When I was 4 years old, we were riding in the car and my mother said to my grandma, "Did you know that Helen is p-r-e-g-n-a-n-t" I replied, mama what is pregnant?
They didn't know what to say.

My granddaughter had some cute things she said when she was small--her word for chapstick was ip-ip, her name for horses was loopos--who knows where that came from, her name for dill pickles was buckies, and her name for a horse trailer was a whorehouse!!! Funny--had to correct her on that one several times!!
