I was playing with punchies and scraps and thought this would be a good time to try the herringbone technique in Nikki's recent video, so I found some yellow/cream scraps and laid them out on the 2 of diamonds card. I especially like the way the yellow Renaissance vellum shows the pattern of the card back, which I like to have peeking through on each card I do. The scan has made the colors look a little funny, but they go from a beige-y color to yellow orange. This was fun!

Wow ladies! These are all fantastic. As a copper lover myself though, the copper one just does it for me. Truly a work of art. (someone already said that, but I'll say it again!)

Here's my take:

The journal says it all: "I figured the only way to get a monochrome layout with a photo was to use a b&w, which gave me the opportunity to sneak in a baby photo of “how it all began”. Not that this is a memory, of course, but it is an anecdote that both Mum and Dad have told me. They had never wanted children and by that time, didn’t get on well anyway, so the necessary prerequisite didn’t happen very often. Talking the days “before The Pill”, when one New Year’s Eve they got a bit too tipsy and forgot about all the precautions - I happened… I’m born on 30th September, which makes me exactly a 9-month child and kind of validates their story…
Photo: 29th November – almost two months old"

There isn't much on this card other than the photo - the two coordinating ribbons and the brad are from Making Memories; peel-offs from Craft Creations, and the mini tag was a leftover from a Scrapmuse kit.

I missed a few here, and they are all gorgeous!!!

Ink-Pattie - I love the colour scheme and all the detail!

Gwen - gorgeous with those flowers and the layered stamps...

Ruth Ann - this really caught my eye; I have a fascination with clock piece layouts recently; and what a colour scheme:copper! I would have never thought of that!
