a fun technique to try....more samples....
Re: a fun technique to try....more samples....
I've done it but never dried my ink first. It's so pretty and soft. Does the drying process make the colors softer? I'll have to pull out some supplies tonight (IOW - unpack them) and try it both ways. Thanks for the reminder!

enabler!! now i just gotta have some chalks! they are all wonderful but, I think my favorite is the lavender ( purple is my fave color )
Re: a fun technique to try....more samples....
That's gorgeous, Ruth Ann. I'll have to try that one. I use my chalks quite a bit, but never tried them over VersaMark.

So cute Christy!
So do we wet our chalks and paint with our fingers? I have lots of chalks and have only played with them a little.

do NOT wet chalk!! I paint with my fingers just because that's me...you can pick up chalk with a small brush and use that. I think I just like to get my hands all dirty!
Nice job, christy!

Here are a couple more I did last night....I put samples of things in my art journal so I remember how I did things and so I don't forget to keep using those techniques.....the script and flowers are the same as yesterday, but with some different colors...sorry for the glare, I used glossy matte spray finish to "fix" the image.

very soft and pretty...you can use a q-tip to apply....or if you want to fill in areas use your versamark pen too...same can be done with mica powders aka perfect pearls etc.
Re: a fun technique to try....more samples....
Thanks Ruth Ann! I didn't think that I should wet my chalks. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something. I'm going to try this one tonight!Ruth Ann Landry wrote:do NOT wet chalk!! here is a card I just did up.
I ran the light purple through the cuttlebug embossing folder-ran the versamark over the raised words & colored with 2 colors of chalk.
stamped the flower on vellum and colored with chalk, tore it out and inked the edges.
Thanks Ruth Ann for reminding me of this, it's fun.
