So Cheryl, I have a question about the finshed ATC - for this particular card, was the quote the focal, or the final embellishment. I know it ultimately doesn't matter - the card is fantastic. But I think this is why I struggle with focals and embellishments - I'm not sure what exactly defines each in some cases.

I love it, BTW - I just didn't think this question was appropriate for the spoiler thread.

The quote was what Hope did, I added the flowers, pearls and stickles. The quote is on the paper bag technique that Christy had us do before.

Very cool! I figured the quote was kind of the centerpiece, but I've often though of adding quotes or word art as embellishments. I've also seen flowers like are on this ATC as the actual focal image.

In the end, they all turn out great. But I think I'm realizing why the backgrounds are the only thing that don't throw me.

I should be home Tuesday or Wednesday but in the meantime, dh will hold all my packages and letters for me. Just got home from seeing the replica of the Vietnam Memorial here in AZ - it is soo moving and they even have dogtags from military who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan - I was able to find the one for my DS' platoon leader who was killed in May 2004! Very sad.
