30 days of sketches Disney style

Post by Monica »

July is sketch month at Disney Scrappers, and while I seriously doubt I'll get half of them done, let alone 30... here's the first layout. Photos are from my niece's 7th birthday at Disneyland, and her blue dress is an Alice costume.

It’s such a sweet page. I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re able to get done.
There are still several WDW photos I need to get scrapped. Maybe this would be a good month?

It absolutely would be a good month! The sketches I'm using were collected by the owner of Disney Scrappers for this event, some of her originals, some from Pagemaps, some from another member, but I see no reason you couldn't challenge yourself by using whatever sketches you like!

Digging in the way back box for this one! Papers and embellishments are Halfway Cafe by Cosmo Cricket and the title is brown corrugated Thickers I added black Distress ink to... and the photo itself is from May 2001!

I like the little heart accents, and the starry vellum. When was the last time any of us used vellum? It really adds depth to a layout. I'm sure I've got some stashed away somewhere. :P

I love how the vellum softens the background just enough to allow the embellishments & photos to pop to the foreground.

This one's an alternate sketch as I wasn't inspired by day 4 with the photos I've been looking at. Papers and embellishments Simple Stories' Say Cheese.

Finally got the Day 4 sketch done! I stretched a 1-page sketch into a 2-page one, and I really like how it turned out. My background papers are a base of pearlescent white cardstock from Time & Space, black specialty paper with silver stars from Michael's, ribbons from two other CS kits, and an irridescent mylar adhesive paper for Tinkerbell, Mickey's head and the stars that came from Michael's or Joann's. In place of a title I used my closeup shot.

This must have been a magical parade, Monica! Your close-up shot makes the perfect title.

How fun! I always found it difficult to come up with a layout for the parade photos. Great choice of supplies as well!
