Prayer Request

Post by EDelValle »

Please keep my daughter in your prayers
these coming days. She has finally made the
difficult decision to place her husband, who
has early onset Alzheimer's Disease, into a
memory care facility. He was first diagnosed in
2013 at age 52 and it is really past time for her
to make this decision, but she has been trying to keep
him home. She visited a facility here in Brooklyn and
decided that they met her standards of care. But they
placed him on a waiting list after indicating that they
would have a room available. I'm afraid that if the
wait is too long she may change her mind about placement.
She knows in her head that it is the right thing to do but
her heart is telling her otherwise

God’s peace be with your daughter and all who love your son-in-law. Prayers that the wait won’t be long and that the transition will be easy for both of them.

Special prayers for you, it’s heart wrenching when your child goes through such devastating situations… :happy94:

Beki was able to put into words what I wanted to say.

What a horrible position to be in. Praying for you and your daughter during this very difficult time.

May your daughter be comforted with her decision and her husband settled into the care facility as soon as possible. Tough choices to make for loved ones.

So sorry your daughter has to face this. We waited too long with my father in law. It wasn't easy.

This hits close to home for me as my father and aunt had to make this same decision for my grandmother's care. Having seen the toll that her care took on both of them, I pray that the wait moves quickly for your son-in-law's care.

Sending prayers... she's had lots of years since his diagnosis... but this move will give her peace of mind and some rest for her own body. Hugs to you, too!!

That's such a difficult decision to make I watched my mom and my MIL both have to make it for my dad and FIL, who both had Parkinson's and eventually dementia as well. It's heart-wrenching knowing that they are where they need to be but wanting them home with you so badly. I hope she finds the strength to do what needs done, and that her heart will let her mind rule when a spot opens up.
